THE ELECTRA GOAT BARBECUE AND CRAFT SHOW will be held MAY 11TH & 12TH at the Electra Fairgrounds located on the eastern edge of Electra one block north of Business 287.
The Electra Goat Barbecue and Craft Show is held annually on the Friday and Saturday preceeding Mother's Day. Sponsored by the Electra Chamber of Commerce, the event draws contestants and spectators alike from all over the United States. There is a wide range of activities including various awards, children’s games, live entertainment, a Friday night dance and the famous Cookie-Toss contest. The event is sanctioned by the Lone Star Barbecue Society and awards over $3,000 in prize money. Contestants compete in four major categories, Goat, Brisket, Ribs and Chicken, and may also enter the jackpot steak and jackpot beans competition.

TO ORDER GOATS - Electra Food Market is ordering goats for the event. Orders must be placed by Tuesday, May 8th, at 5:00 p.m. The meat will be delivered and available for pickup on Thursday afternoon, May 10th.
